Joseph Pavur graduated from Governors State University in 1992 with a degree in Public Administration. He was employed as a Union electrician in Cook County prior to attending John Marshall Law School in 1999. Mr. Pavur then joined the Will County State's Attorney's Office in early 2001. He began his legal career prosecuting criminal misdemeanor and aggravated traffic offenses. Mr. Pavur later transferred to the Civil Division where he prosecuted liquor control violations, reviewed Freedom of Information (FOIA) requests, and participated in seminars informing elected officials on various areas of law. In 2003, Mr. Pavur entered private practice with an emphasis on criminal and family law. He remained in private practice until joining the Will County Public Defender's Office on January 12, 2015.
