Gabriel Guzman was born and raised in Joliet, Illinois. He graduated from Joliet West High School in 1994. Mr. Guzman atended Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois, graduating in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal/Social Justice and a minor in Psychology. He received his Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School in 2002.
During the sumer of 2000, Mr. Guzman interned for the Office of the Will County State's Attorney. The next summer, he worked as a law clerk for a judge in the Civil Division at the Daley Center in Chicago, Illinois. After being licensed to practice law, he was hired at the Will County Public Defender's Office in September 2003. He was promoted to courtroom supervisor in December 2016.
